I’m Beatriz Lostalé, a Spanish illustrator based in Surrey.
Originally from Galicia, I moved to the UK to study the MA in Children’s Book Illustration at the Cambridge School of Art, where I later obtained a PhD in non-fiction children’s books. Alongside my illustration career, I am also a lecturer in Illustration at the University for the Creative Arts, and I continue to explore my research interests in my free time.
I enjoy creating lively illustrations with vibrant palettes, and I am passionate about printmaking, which has influenced my practice and processes. My clients include Shake Shack, V&A Publishing, Bloomsbury, Plankton Press and magazines like Scoop!, ¡La Leche! and Pan. Having worked across various areas of illustration, one of the things I love the most is wondering how my work can be applied to new and different contexts.
